Il Prof. Ing. Anna Angela Barba è Professore Ordinario SSD ICHI-02/A – Impianti chimici, GSD 09/ICHI-02 – Impianti e Processi Industriali Chimici presso l’Università degli Studi di Salerno (DIFARMA) si è laureata con lode in Ingegneria Chimica, nel maggio 1997 e ha conseguito il titolo di dottore di ricerca in Ingegneria Chimica nel 2002. E’ stata borsista CNR nell’anno 1999 e post-doc nel biennio 2002-2004 e ha avuto incarichi di collaborazione coordinata e continuativa presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Chimica ed Alimentare dell’Università degli Studi di Salerno (2004-2005). Dall’ ottobre 2002 al marzo 2003 ha trascorso un periodo di ricerca presso l’Università Tecnica di Eindhoven (NL) dove ha collaborato ad un progetto di ricerca interdipartimentale Department of Electrical Engineering / Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, sul plasma pulsato
Nel 2005 ha preso servizio nel ruolo di ricercatore presso il dipartimento di Scienze Farmaceutiche, oggi dipartimento di Farmacia.
Svolge didattica dedicata ai temi dell’impiantistica, dei processi e della sicurezza per i CdS di Chimica e Tecnologia Farmaceutiche; Farmacia, Farmaceutica e Nutraceutica Animale.
Ha svolto e svolge attività didattica nei corsi di formazione post-laurea e di summer school: Corso di Aggiornamento e Perfezionamento Professionale in Scienze dell’Alimentazione; Master Universitari di II livello in: Idrologia e Medicina Termale e dello Sport; Management Sanitario, Farmacoeconomia, Farmacovigilanza e aspetti gestionali; Scienza e Tecnologia Cosmetiche; Controlli Microbiologici: qualità e sicurezza nei processi di produzione); Approcci Ingegneristici All’agricoltura Sostenibile ed all’agricoltura 4.0. Fa parte del collegio di Dottorato in Ingegneria Industriale.
Le attività di ricerca svolte dalla prof.ssa Barba sono dedicate al trasferimento dei processi e dei metodi tipici dell’Ingegneria Chimica al settore produttivo farmaceutico e sanitario. In particolare, è coordinatore scientifico delle attività del laboratorio Impianti & Processi e collabora in attività di ricerca focalizzate su:
- progettazione di apparecchiature prototipali, set-up sperimentali innovativi e definizione di nuovi protocolli operativi finalizzati all’intensificazione di processo per i settori produttivi alimentari, farmaceutici e nutraceutici, basati sull’uso di campi elettromagnetici (CEM, regione delle microonde) e di ultrasuoni (US);
- progettazione, sviluppo e studio delle proprietà di sistemi di trasporto particellari (milli-, micro-, nano-scala), di natura lipidica e polimerica, per la veicolazione dei farmaci e di molecole funzionali per prodotti farmaceutici, nutraceutici e per l’agricoltura;
- caratterizzazione e trattamenti di materiali di interesse per l’industria farmaceutica (in prevalenza idrogeli), nutraceutica e agroalimentare.
Le attività sono sviluppate attraverso approccio sperimentale e modellistico con esame degli aspetti fenomenologici e del ruolo, nei processi applicati, dei parametri operativi sulle proprietà dei prodotti / fenomeni osservati.
Ha partecipato / è stata responsabile scientifico a / di progetti finanziati (MIUR, Regione Campania, Ateneo UNISA, enti privati). È stata responsabile della cooperazione scientifica tra la Kazan State Medical University, Kazan, Russian Federation e l’Università degli Studi di Salerno. È co-fondatrice di due società di spin-off.
È revisore per numerose riviste internazionali delle aree dell’ingegneria chimica, della tecnologia dei materiali polimerici compositi e delle scienze farmaceutiche (circuito ISI).
È componente dei comitati editoriali delle riviste: – Industrial Engineering & Management (Omics Group) – dal 2012; – Translational Medicine@UniSA (UNISA) – dal 2012; – Pharmaceutics (MDPI) – dal 2018); – Journal of Agricultural, Food Science & Biotechnology (JAFSB) – dal 2022.
E’ stata guest editor per la rivista Current Drug Delivery per l’edizione del numero speciale n.14 -2017. E’ stata co-guest editor della rivista Pharmaceutics (ISSN 1999-4923) per i seguenti numeri speciali: Drug Delivery of siRNA Therapeutics; Enhancement for Strategies in Liposomal and Niosomal Preparations: Formulative and Technological Innovations; Micro/Nano Drug Delivery Systems.
È coautrice di molti lavori pubblicati su riviste internazionali nazionali a carattere tecnico, comunicazioni a convegni internazionali e nazionali, contributi in libri/monografie; è co-inventrice di diversi brevetti.
Per il DIFARMA ha svolto diverse attività istituzionali, tra cui incarichi come membro della CPDS. È attualmente coordinatrice della Commissione VQR e Ranking; è componente della Commissione Presidio di Qualità d’Ateneo (su nomina rettorale).
È componente del REPRISE e dell’Albo degli Esperti per la VQR 2020-2024 (è stata revisore esterno per l’esercizio VQR 2020-2024).
